Gert Polinder op LinkedIn: Kitesurfen voor het goede doel - Kitesurfing for charity Binnenkort doe ik… (2024)

Afgelopen week mocht ik meedoen aan Hoek tot Helder. Allereerst hartelijk dank aan alle sponsoren. Samen hebben we 2000 euro opgehaald voor de hartstichting en kon ik onderdeel zijn van deze bizarre tocht. De tocht was erg zwaar. Ik was er zowel mentaal als fysiek niet goed op voorbereid, het weer en de wateromstandigheden waren zwaar en diverse keren bleek mijn materiaal niet goed genoeg voor deze tocht. Ik heb in ongeveer 6 uur tijd zo'n 70 km afgelegd, maar toen mijn lijnen braken kon ik echt niet meer verder. Dit leverde in de eerste instantie een grote teleurstelling op, maar inmiddels ben ik vast beraden om volgend jaar opnieuw mee te doen en hoop ik deze mooie tocht uit te varen.

Five years ago, I started to work at Stella to professionalise our R&D process. Nowadays, we're proud to have a fantastic team of product specialist such as Product Managers, Product Designers, Stylists, Mechanical Engineers, Hard- and Software engineers. In the more recent period, I was also responsible for the purchasing and quality department. It involved a lot of supply chain management. The challenges of peaking demands and a very disturbed supply chain gave me both struggles and joy. I feel like this will be unprecedented however I have the feeling that I aged 10 years last year as well. During those five years, I became aware that I feel deeply connected with the product and the people in this industry. The bicycle industry is friendly and works only with good relations. I will switch to a different role on behalf of Stella. My new title is called Head of Business Development and I will focus on new Business for Stella. I will remain involved in our Product Marketing strategy and other new things. On the short term, I will focus mainly on implementing a new ERP at Stella and integrating our Connected bike strategy into Stella as we see it as one of our strategic pilars towards the future. I'm happy that I can transfer my current responsibilities to my colleagues and trust that they can bring it all to the next level.Many thanks to all partners, suppliers, colleagues and connections! We will meet again 😃
