World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (2024)

Dragonflight has been one of the best expansions in World of Warcraft's past decade. A massive glow-up from the mishaps of Shadowlands, the dragon-filled expansion has been filled with consistent content. Constant patches and communication with the community seems to have brought the flame back for a lot of players.

We take a look at the nine boss line up of Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope.

If you're coming back to the game now, or trying it out for the first time, these addons are really useful tools for a lot of different areas of Dragonflight. Whether you're leveling an alt, achievement-hunting or pushing the highest possible Mythic keys, you'll find something useful for you here.

This list is not ordered. All these addons serve crucial purposes in their respective parts of the game. They're meant to be used in combination with each other.

7 DeadlyBossMods or BigWigs

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (2)

DBM is the most downloaded addon in World of Warcraft retail, by far. Sitting at nearly 500 million downloads, it is basically a part of the game now. BigWigs (and LittleWigs) are also mentioned here as an alternative, because both addons do essentially the same thing.

This is a quality-of-life mod filled with information about dungeons and raids, and it will save you so many times you'll lose count. If you're venturing into this type of content, install one of these addons, you will not want to go back.

DBM/BigWigs' Key Features:

  • Raid and Dungeon warnings.
  • Filters for what you need to know based on your character.
  • Cooldown bars for boss abilities.

6 WeakAuras

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (3)

The fourth most downloaded addon in Dragonflight is WeakAuras. More veteran players will recommend this endlessly, and with good reason! It might seem daunting at first, but with the amount of resources available today, you don't even need to really learn how to use it.

This addon allows you to track your cooldowns more easily, is completely customizable and has absurd community support through sites like wago.io. It takes a bit of time to get used to it, but it will make you a much better player.

WeakAuras' Key Features:

  • It allows you to track anything you want.
  • Endlessly customizable if you learn how to use it.
  • Very acessible if used with wago.io.

5 HandyNotes

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (4)

The clue is in the name. HandyNotes has information about almost everything you can imagine. It layers seemlessly on top of your map and fills it with icons. Simply hover them and read the explanations that the addon has to give.

This will help you hunt for rares, get achievements, check dragonriding races, complete hidden quests and much more. HandyNotes will save you a ton of time while taking essentially no space in your UI. It is a no-brainer.

HandyNotes' Key Features:

  • Location of all rare mobs on your map.
  • Treasures and collectibles will all be marked, with small guides available when you hover them.
  • Locations for a ton of achievements.

4 TomTom

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (5)

Playing WoW without TomTom is like visiting a new town without using Google Maps. Sure, you can do it, but should you? WoW's GPS allows you to set waypoints (with a fancy, green arrow included), check coordinates for sharing purposes and use other people's coordinates for yourself.

Someone to be proud of.

Most people use it, hence why you'll see a lot of /way commands on WoW's Reddit and in many other places. Just like HandyNotes, it takes up no space in your UI unless you are actively using it.

TomTom Key Features:

  • Set waypoints through the map or via /way commands.
  • An arrow telling you where to go based on your waypoint.
  • An automatic arrow pointing the way to your body when you die.

3 Details! Or Recount

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (7)

The third most donwloaded addon in World of Warcraft is, of course, Details. Recount comes close behind at fifth, but it is just as good. These two do the same thing: tracking all sorts of stats related to your and your party's/raid's performance.

WoW does not have any way to track what damage you are dealing, how much healing you're getting or any other stat like it, so Details! (or Recount) is a must-have if you're interested in knowing that.

Details!/Recount Key Features:

  • See how much damage you and your party/raid members are dealing.
  • Track healing done and a ton of other stats.
  • Extremely useful for analyzing your own performance and seeing what you need to improve.

2 Azeroth Pilot Reloaded

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (8)

Azeroth Pilot Reloaded is a leveling addon and a rework of the famous Azeroth Auto Pilot mod. It comes with a ton of features that will make leveling ten times easier, whether you are leveling your fifth alt or playing World of Warcraft for the first time.

Just like most great addons, Azeroth Pilot Reloaded is fully customizable, allowing you to tailor the experience to your personal tastes. It gives you multiple options for which routes to choose, allowing for a lot of variety when leveling multiple characters.

Azeroth Pilot Reloaded Key Features:

  • It tells you, in detail, your quest objectives step by step.
  • Automatically chooses gossip options and skips dialogue for your speedy leveling sessions.
  • It has a waypoint arrow showing you where to go at your current step.

1 Raider.IO

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - 7 Best Addons (9)

Raider.IO is the second most downloaded addon in World of Warcraft, sitting at nearly 300 million transfers. Despite having a much more specific use than most other addons in this list, it is a fantastic tool. It is essentially an all-in-one stop for crucial information about players.

It will, at a glance, let you know what the player you're analyzing has done recently when it comes to later-game content. Be it mythic dungeons or raids, Raider.IO has all the necessary information condensed in an easily digestible manner.

Raider.IO Key Features:

  • All relevant late game information acessible very easily.
  • Best runs by dungeon and raid encounters defeated.
  • An essential tool for doing mythic dungeons with random players.
