Tribune Obituaries Tula Zotaley, 82, dies; led Daughters of Penelope By David Chanen Staff Writer Tula Zotaley, 82, grand president of the Daughters of Penelope in the United States, Canada and Greece, and cofounder and first director of the choir at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, died of complications from cancer Monday at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Paul J. Ebel, 88, owner of Avenue Motor Sales in St. Paul for 36 years, died Tuesday at his home in Roseville. Ebel was born in Hungary and came to St. Paul at age 7.

He was a produce manager at the Crocus Hill Food Market for many years and worked at the ammunition plant in what is now Arden Hills during World War II. He started Ebel Motors, a used-car, dealership at 1902 W. 7th in 1947. Three years later he moved to 938 University Av. and changed the name to Avenue Motor Sales.

"He was a little hustler and had a good reputation," said his son, Paul, of Shoreview, who took over the business when his father retired in 1986. Besides his son, he is survived by a' sister, Theresa Heffernan, of St. Paul. Services will be held at noon Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2048 Hamline Av.
