pills aren't going to fix it, changing your lifestyle will

We can't help you solve that mystery. All we can tell you is that there are plenty of dad gamers who are still decent at WoW and the cognitive decline you're describing has little-to-nothing to do with how the game is designed.

I've had this problem the last few years as I've gotten older. But, muscle memory has gotten better, so now I know what to press, where to move, when to use CDs etc from muscle memory alone. No longer need to look at stuff. But, that's for PvE. I still suck major ass at PvP.

We know nothing about you, are you just asking if you're the only one with less gaming skills than what you had a decade ago?

No, you're not. It's a skill, you need to work on it to keep it up. Chances are that if you start working on it it'll come back, but there's a possibility it'll never be as good as it was either. Definitely isn't a certainty though.

Closing this as essentially asked and answered, at the user's request.

"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

FAQs

How to fix a lazy eye in adults at home? ›

Exercises such as dot-to-dot cards, coloring within lines, and a Brock string test may help strengthen the eyes. In some cases, eye patches and glasses can also help. Lazy eye (amblyopia) is a condition in which a person's brain focuses more on one eye than the other. This can affect their vision in the long term.

What causes lazy eye in older adults? ›

The most common cause of lazy eye is an imbalance in the muscles that position the eyes. This imbalance can cause the eyes to cross in or turn out, and prevents them from working together.

When is it too late to treat lazy eyes? ›

Lazy eye treatment should begin as soon as possible, ideally before the age of 7. Although treating this condition before this age is usually more effective, it's never too late to treat lazy eye. The best thing you can do is to stay on top of your child's regular eye exams.

Can a lazy eye be corrected in adults? ›

Studies funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI) found that lazy eye can be successfully treated even in adults. Vision therapy is a customizable, individualized treatment program performed under the supervision of an eye doctor.

Can a lazy eye be restored? ›

Amblyopia is treatable, but it can cause permanent vision problems if it's not treated when a child is young. It's possible to treat amblyopia in teens and adults, but it takes longer and is usually less effective.

What is the new treatment for lazy eye? ›

A specialised “brain-training” computer program has emerged as a highly effective treatment for correcting amblyopia and improving vision, even in adult eyes, according to Dr Arthur Cummings. “Dichoptic therapy for amblyopia is absolutely game-changing,” he told EuroTimes.

What is the age limit for lazy eye surgery? ›

Borriello says it's best to treat it during childhood. “Since amblyopia is a developmental issue, ideally, it would be treated between birth up to 12 years old because that's the time period when your eyes and brain are still talking to each other and learning how to see,” Dr. Borriello further explains.

What makes lazy eye worse? ›

It develops when there's a breakdown in how the brain and the eye work together, and the brain can't recognize the sight from 1 eye. Over time, the brain relies more and more on the other, stronger eye — while vision in the weaker eye gets worse.

Can you train yourself out of a lazy eye? ›

Depending on the cause, some eye exercises, along with other treatments, can help strengthen the eye muscles and reduce lazy eye. These can include using certain cards and reading with an eye patch. Lazy eye, or amblyopia, is a common condition that occurs in approximately 3 out of every 100 children .

Will a lazy eye correct itself? ›

One common misconception about lazy eye syndrome is that it is merely a cosmetic concern that will eventually correct itself. Unfortunately, without proper treatment, amblyopia will only worsen over time and further reduce vision quality.

Do eye drops help lazy eyes? ›

Atropine eye drops given once a day to treat amblyopia, or lazy eye, the most common cause of visual impairment in children, work as well as the standard treatment of patching one eye.

How long to eye patch for lazy eye adult? ›

Eye patching for moderate lazy eye, for two hours per day with one hour of near vision exercises, is just as effective as patching for six hours per day or even full time patching. 62% of patients that patched for two hours per day showed improved visual acuity within about four months of treatment.
