Destruction Warlock DPS Macros and Addons - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (2024)

1.

Addons for Destruction Warlock

1.1.

ElvUI

ElvUI is a complete replacement for the default User Interface. Not onlyis this a popular AddOn among top players, but we here at Icy Veins use itfor all our characters. ElvUI eliminates most of the inefficiencies of theBlizzard interface, which are many and varied. It is extremely user-friendly,and takes very little time to set up and master. It also comes alreadyfurnished with almost everything you need; unit frames, raid frames, minimap, buffs and debuffs, and much more. You can easily unlock and drag all thecomponents around so your UI will look exactly the way you want it to. ElvUIis clean, easy to use, and a great starting point for your UI.

1.2.

Weak Auras

Weak Auras is the most important AddOn for players seeking to master theirclass and take their gameplay to new heights. If you aspire to do any Mythicraiding, this is the most powerful tool in your kit. Weak Auras allows you todisplay helpful visuals cues anywhere on your screen, which enable you toplay better. Most players use it to track their trinket procs, highlight onscreen displays of their most important cooldowns, or track the timers ofboss mechanics. It is highly customisable and makes keeping track of yourprocs and cooldowns effortless. The drawback of Weak Auras is that is has abit of a learning curve and is not the most user-friendly. Weak Auras allowsyou to import other players data directly into their UI, however, and mostplayers choose to simply import other people's Weak Auras rather than maketheir own. Weak Auras can be used to create just about anything you canimagine, as it is a LUA scripting tool (essentially an AddOn that createsother AddOns, in-game). This is by far the most essential AddOn for playerslooking to step into Mythic raiding.

1.3.

Boss Mods

Boss Mods are helpful pre-made timers that allow you to keep track of thenoteworthy mechanics in any given encounter. Usually, they come equipped withhelpful prompts, visuals, and sounds to ensure you don't miss anythingimportant.

1.3.1.

BigWigs Bossmods

BigWigs is the best boss mod available currently. It is extremelycustomizable, allowing you to change what is displayed on an individual bosslevel and how boldly you want each alert customized. BigWigs is typically themost accurate and periodically updated of the available Boss Mods. It doesn'trequire any setup at all, though there are a dizzying array of options andcustomizations should you wish to personalize your setup.

1.3.2.

Deadly Boss Mods

Deadly Boss Mods is an alternative to BigWigs, though it usually is not asaccurate early in the patch. Most of the alerts are loud and flashy bydefault, making this a potentially good choice for players who have verylittle experience in a raid environment.

1.4.

Name Plates

Nameplates are essential for allowing you to easily keep track of basicdebuffs and quickly select new targets in combat. While ElvUI nameplates docome standard with the AddOn, they are a little limited and occasionallybuggy. Listed below are some good alternatives.

1.4.1.

KUI Nameplates

KUI Nameplates offer a higher degree of customization and accuracy. Forexample, you can easily configure the nameplates to enlarge and change colorwhen a target reaches a certain percentage of health, which can be veryhelpful for classes with executes. They always correctly display yourdebuffs, and their click box is very accurate. Some setup is required, although it is very simple and straightforward.

TidyPlates aren't quite as customizable or accurate as KUI, but they arean improvement over the default UI or the ElvUI nameplates. They are alsogreat out of the box, requiring little to no setup at all, which is a plusfor some players.

1.4.3.

Plater

Plater is more of an advanced and highly customizable nameplate compared to KUIwith native support for WeakAuras. Its default profile requires quite some editing.Recommended for players who are not afraid of spending some time to tweak it, with agreater return.

1.5.

Damage Meters

Damage meters display a variety of helpful data about what is taking placein combat, from your current DPS (or HPS) to the number of interrupts eachplayer successfully used.

1.5.1.

Skada

Skada is a lightweight damage meter that is exceptionally accurate. Itdoesn't take up much memory, which could cause you to lag, and displays awide range of helpful data. This is the recommended damage meter if you logyour raid data to WarcraftLogs.

1.5.2.

Details!

Details! is a more heavyweight damage meter, taking up quite a bit ofmemory. It offers extensive in-game analysis tools compared to Skada, however, allowing you to break down your data in depth without leaving thegame. This is the recommended damage meter if you don't log your raid data.

1.6.

Extra AddOns

These AddOns are just small trimmings that might make your life a littleeasier.

1.6.1.

Mik's Scrolling Battle Text

1.6.2.

xCT+ Combat Text

Another combat text AddOn with a minimalistic look.

1.6.3.

DeathNote

DeathNote displays the last several deaths for each of your party or raidmembers. For 30 seconds prior to their death, a complete timestamp of theircombat log is displayed, showing their current health, what heals theyreceived, what buffs and debuffs they had, whether they used their personalcooldowns, etc. This Addon is helpful for breaking down your own death aswell as finding out whether that guy really did use his Healthstone.

1.6.4.

  • /petmoveto

This orders your demon to move to a location specified by you.
