Assistant Registrar, AE226, 100% FTE, Academic Staff, 12-month renewable/ongoing appointment, one vacancy

DUTIES:

Assists in determining the strategic departmental goals, develops tracking metrics, and supports determination of direction for staffing to ensure students receive quality academic services. May supervise staff and provide professional development opportunities. Organizes and directs clerical and functional operations, within their area of specialization (i.e. graduation, transcripts, enrollment reporting, and student relations), providing critical support to students, faculty, staff, and third-party agencies and addresses questions or concerns with a solution-based approach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Two years of experience in an education environment with postsecondary student records, advising, admissions, registration, or records management
  • Experience working with a student information system (SIS) such as PeopleSoft, Jenzabar and/or Banner or similar applications.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience working in a Registrar Office or a similar role in a university or College setting

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to deal effectively with university faculty, students, administrators, and staff, as well as various outside organizations and agencies in enforcing key University academic policies.
  • Experience in working with high education-high school dual enrollment/ dual degree programs.
  • Strong interest in being an advocate for both faculty and students through direct and indirect interaction; i.e. procedural and systems development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing complex records systems and computer systems development in a registrar’s office or admissions office (specific experience with Peoplesoft preferred)
  • Successful supervisory experience in a people-oriented environment
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Trained in the use of Campus Solution (People Soft); ability to investigate Campus Solutions functionality and train others on the functionality of the system.
  • Ability to commit to the highest ethical standards while working with confidential and sensitive information and student records.
  • Ability to interpret and explain procedures and policies for staff, faculty, students, families and administrators.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and analysis in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others.
